Join A Clean Up
EY Coastal Clean-up
Date: September 16, 2017
in support of Keep Bermuda Beautiful
Location: Island wide
Time: 9am - 12noon
SAVE THE DATE: The EY Coastal Clean-up
in support of Keep Bermuda Beautiful will be on Saturday, September 17th. 2016. This annual island-wide event aims to engage volunteers to enjoy a morning combing our beaches, or snorkeling or diving in our waters in an effort to sustain our pristine shores by removing litter and marine debris. Every piece of litter collected is recorded and the data is shared locally and globally.
Annually this large scale effort has greatly impacted the Island with 9,000 lbs. of trash being removed at the 2015 event. We have been hugely successful in cleaning up our beaches, parks, shorelines and favourite boating spots.
As we are doing this, we are participating in a global effort –the annual International Coastal Cleanup, hosted by Ocean Conservancy sees people from across the global participating in similar clean-ups, on the same day. In 2014, Ocean Conservancy reported that 91 countries participated and more than 560,000 volunteers picked up over 16 million pounds of trash worldwide. Join the cause by contacting Keep Bermuda Beautiful at 295-5142 to register a location for your team.
Become a “Citizen Scientist” for the morning and help collect data as part of a global initiative
NEW this year: Use the Clean Swell app to record your data.
How do I join: Gather a team of family, friends and colleagues. Select a location or ask KBB to assist you in selecting a location. REGISTER your team with KBB at 295-5142 or email email@example.com.
When you join the EY Coastal Clean-up in support of Keep Bermuda Beautiful, you will be joining volunteers from nearly 100 countries who will be spending the morning picking up trash from the ocean and shoreline for Ocean Conservancy’s annual International Coastal Cleanup. This is a special event that EY is proud to sponsor in support of Keep Bermuda Beautiful’s ongoing clean-up and beautification efforts. Every piece of litter collected is recorded and the data is shared locally and globally. We invite you to watch this short video.
Thank you all for helping us to make a big, big difference.

Rain Date policy
In the event of rain, and if it has been raining up until 8:00 am on the morning of a KBB cleanup, the bushes and terrain will be too wet and muddy for a successful cleanup. In this case, the cleanup will be postponed to the scheduled "rain date" which is usually the following day.
