SAVE THE DATE: KBB's Annual Island-wide MARINE CLEANUP will be on Saturday, September 15th, 2012. Please go ahead and mark your diary. This is an annual event for volunteers to enjoy a day outside combing the beaches, snorkeling or diving and looking.....Looking for what?
LITTER and MARINE DEBRIS
In past years we have been hugely successful in cleaning up our beaches, parks, shorelines and favourite boating spots during this event. And the best news is that when we are doing this, we are participating in a global effort....The International Coastal Cleanup, hosted by Ocean Conservancy.
We will be providing more information on how you can take part in this special day. In the meantime, please mark your diary for September 15th.
Details: Choose your own location, gather your friends into a team and call KBB for bags & gloves, or ask KBB to assign a location. We will be joining the global effort. This is an International Coastal Clean Up Day to pick up litter and marine debris on the beaches, along the rocks or in the coastal waters. Calling all divers, swimmers, snorkelers, beach-combers, Eco Clubs, sports groups, community groups and families. Join the Island-wide effort to help keep Bermuda beautiful and environmentally healthy.
When you join KBB’s Marine Cleanup, you will be a part of a global effort. Volunteers from more than 150 countries will be spending the morning picking up trash from the ocean and shoreline for Ocean Conservancy’s annual International Coastal Cleanup. This is a special event that Bermuda is proud to participate in. Every piece of litter collected is recorded and the data is shared locally and globally. We invite you to watch this short video.
