KBB is currently seeking to fill the following positions.

Executive Director

Keep Bermuda Beautiful (KBB) is seeking a dynamic and goal driven Executive Director. This full-time role requires a passionate and influential leader to inspire the Bermuda community to further the charity’s waste and pollution agenda. The successful candidate will report directly to the KBB Board supporting board members and volunteers and will manage the KBB office and its team. Some occasional weekend work is required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing the day-to-day affairs of KBB and promoting awareness of environmental issues in the interest and welfare of the organisation’s mission.
  • Establishing and maintaining office procedures in good and proper condition.
  • Coordinating the Board of Directors’ meetings and AGM including all materials and monthly reports.
  • Fundraising and donor management, including new donor recruitment and grant applications.
  • Expanding on and implementing sponsorship and fundraising events and activities. 
  • Building and maintaining a communications strategy and serving as a visible spokesperson for KBB.
  • Developing and assisting in the implementation of community education.
  • Managing and implementing KBB programmes including membership and volunteer initiatives.
  • Coordinating island-wide events including the Great Big Cleanup and the KBB Coastal Cleanup.
  • Preparing internal and external correspondence.
  • Maintaining IT systems and the virtual KBB platform including website, social media and donor software.
  • Liaising with environmental organisations in the private, public, and charitable sectors, locally and internationally to further the organisation’s goals and objectives.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in business, fundraising, and/or non-profits in order to drive KBB’s mission. 
  • A strong passion, interest, and knowledge of our natural environment – experience with environmental stewardship would be ideal.
  • A team player with organisational skills and the ability to use initiative to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, working well under pressure and without close supervision.
  • Superior listening and communication skills, with a detail-oriented approach to tasks and an appreciation for accuracy.
  • Computer literate – good knowledge of Google and its office software as well as the Microsoft suite of products (especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel); ideally experience with website maintenance and social media; knowledge of Boomerang and QuickBooks software would be advantageous. 
  • A valid driving license and vehicle required.

Education & Community Engagement Coordinator

Keep Bermuda Beautiful (KBB) is seeking an organised, energetic and collaborative individual to join its team as Education & Community Engagement Coordinator.

Reporting to the Executive Director, this role requires a passionate and engaging person with proven experience in an educational capacity to drive the organisation’s mission, inspire the Bermuda community and further the charity’s waste and pollution agenda. This is a part-time flexible role and some occasional weekend work is required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and implementing the annual education programme for schools island-wide including holiday camps and Litter Lessons and assisting in the implementation of community education through social media.
  • Fostering school relationships and delivering assemblies at schools island-wide.
  • Coordinating with the Waste Management Education and Enforcement Officer.
  • Assisting with coordinating and participating in community cleanups and island-wide events including the Great Big Cleanup and the KBB Coastal Cleanup.
  • Coordinating the ‘Doughnut Challenge’ to inspire teens to get involved in cleanup initiatives; Ocean Plastic workshops and the Ocean Plastic Art Show.
  • Working with the Duke of Edinburgh programme and the Island’s middle schools to offer community service opportunities.
  • Partnering with the BUEI and the Eco-Schools programme.
  • Maintaining a record of connections and a database of community and education contacts.
  • Liaising with environmental organisations in the private, public. and charitable sectors, locally and internationally to further the organisation’s goals and objectives.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an educational setting with a keen interest in and knowledge of our natural environment – experience with environmental stewardship would be ideal.
  • Organised, energetic team player with great people and communication skills.
  • Ability to work without close supervision, using initiative and performing under pressure with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Computer and social media literate – good knowledge of Google and its office software as well as the Microsoft Suite of products. 

Office Coordinator

Keep Bermuda Beautiful (KBB) is seeking an organised, self-motivated and focused individual to join its team as Office Coordinator.

The Office Coordinator will be the point person for the day-to-day activities of the organisation. The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Director and will support board members and volunteers as needed. This is a part-time position requiring four hours per day at the KBB office. Flexibility is required which may include occasional weekend work, but overall the role can be limited to core hours.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Handling telephone calls appropriately and assisting callers with inquiries.
  • Providing administrative support for KBB’s initiatives such as Adopt-A-Spot, Railway Trail Project and Beyond Plastic programmes.
  • Coordinating cleanups including meeting with volunteers on site.
  • Preparing and presenting ad hoc reports and spreadsheets and internal and external
  • correspondence.
  • Maintaining office supplies, liaising with IT when issues arise, or equipment is needed. 
  • Maintaining and enhancing the electronic filing system and databases.
  • Assisting with minute taking/action point creation.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous office and administrative support experience and a keen interest in and knowledge of our natural environment – experience with environmental stewardship would be ideal.
  • A team player with organisational skills and the ability to use initiative to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, working well under pressure and without close supervision.
